# Warehouse assistants for goods receipt, sorting and dispatch

What support does your warehouse need? Warehouse-assistant enquiries require specific tasks, tools and shifts. Describe goods receipt, sorting and packing separately to create a clear role profile.

## Tasks at a warehouse station

Warehouse assistants may sort goods to instructions, prepare packaging or stage shipments. Define the input and output: what arrives, how it is allocated and who receives it next. A sample flow is checking container identification, sorting and staging. This is a task example, not an available-team offer.

## Skills that the task actually needs

State whether item numbers must be read, quantities counted or simple scanning steps performed. Describe loads, routes and working conditions. Separate prior knowledge from procedures taught on site. Communication includes reporting shortages, damaged packaging and unclear allocations.

## Induction: route, sample and first handover

Show storage areas, permitted routes and the workstation. Demonstrate a sample task and correct result, including how to handle deviations. Supervise the first task and review the handover. Check understanding rather than promising a fixed induction duration.

## Boundaries: not every warehouse task is assistance

Clarify stock-record changes, release of damaged goods and equipment operation separately. An assistant title does not authorise every related task. Define when to stop and whom to ask. Use the separate picking or forklift profiles where appropriate.

## Example of a specific enquiry

| Input | To complete |
| --- | --- |
| Task | Goods receipt, sorting and packing |
| Tools / systems | Equipment used on site and required prior knowledge |
| Planning | Headcount per shift, start, duration and workplace |
| Preparation | Induction, contact and required equipment |

A preparation template, not a statement of availability or an agreed project.

## What information does East Power need for this role?

Tasks, workplace, tools, mandatory skills, headcount per shift and dates. Include language, induction and organisational requirements.

## Is a fixed delivery time promised?

The start date is discussed after checking the specific profile and availability. State your preferred date and alternatives.
