# Forklift operators for companies: define equipment and assignments

Need forklift operators for your business? Describe equipment, tasks, experience and shifts. Distinguish internal transport from loading and unloading or work in high-rack storage.

## Equipment and transport task must match

Distinguish loading, storage, line supply and movement between areas. Name the actual trucks, loads and work areas. A general operator title does not establish experience with the equipment.

## Assess experience for the actual assignment

Specify qualifications, equipment, goods and space constraints. Agree checks of documents and practical experience. Include communication with receipt, dispatch or production. Assessment concerns the actual assignment; this site does not confirm any individual’s qualification.

## Prepare site-specific instruction

Identify responsibility for site instruction and authorisation. Show work areas, traffic routes, handovers and reporting. Clarify equipment and site requirements before independent tasks. The DGUV section explains why qualification documents and on-site preparation are separate.

## Define the assignment and its limits

Record which equipment, areas and tasks are included. Refer additional equipment, uncertain loads, damage or changed routes to the responsible person. Maintenance and troubleshooting are not automatically operator duties. Specify related warehouse tasks separately.

## Qualification, site instruction and written authorisation

DGUV describes qualification requirements and written authorisation by the employer for independent operation of industrial trucks with a driver’s seat or platform. Site instruction must address equipment and working conditions. A qualification document alone does not establish completed instruction and authorisation at your workplace. Clarify equipment type, suitable qualifications, practical experience and responsibilities. Foreign qualification documents need assessment for the intended assignment.

## Example of a specific enquiry

| Input | To complete |
| --- | --- |
| Task | Equipment, experience and site induction |
| Tools / systems | Equipment used on site and required prior knowledge |
| Planning | Headcount per shift, start, duration and workplace |
| Preparation | Induction, contact and required equipment |

A preparation template, not a statement of availability or an agreed project.

## What information does East Power need for this role?

Tasks, workplace, tools, mandatory skills, headcount per shift and dates. Include language, induction and organisational requirements.

## Is a fixed delivery time promised?

The start date is discussed after checking the specific profile and availability. State your preferred date and alternatives.
